McKinley High School Adult Education, is pleased to announces continuation of their evening classes of :
SONG WRITING
The course will run for 4 weeks every Tuesday in the month of February 2006. And 1 Tuesday in March. A total of 10 hours of intense sessions coverings the many facets of song writing, taught by Stan Rubens.
Stan has published over 45 songs and released 4 albums. Some of his music is played worldwide over a number ( about 350 ) of Radio stations. In addition as president of Hawaii Songwriters he has helped many song writers over the years. Here follows a partial listing of some of the subjects to be covered in his classes.
Find and apply the lyrical and musical hook, song structure, meter in lyrics and poetry, the need for being brief, simple and complex chords and their underlying basis to music. Hawaiian song structure, music notation! A shortcut with computer systems for music notation. Copyright, mechanical rights and royalties. Short cuts to record demo’s. Mike applications, red book standards. Modern key boards and arranging, actually, more short cuts. Album production and final mix down, marketing facts.
